Radiator Valves

Radiator Valves

Along with a huge range of radiators and central heating products, here at BHL we also stock a fantastic range of radiator valves. We even stock thermostatic radiator valves, so you can watch what is producing heat and where. Our fantastic range doesn’t just include thermostatic valves, it includes; decorative valves, and manual valves, as well as a selection of commercial models. Furthermore, all our valves include big names such as; Honeywell, Pegler, Reina, Salus and that’s just the start. All products are available now to browse online, you can be sure you’ll find the high-quality product that suits your need. A thermostatic radiator valves is a self-regulating valve fitted to hot water system radiator, to control the temperature of a room by changing the flow of hot water to the radiator. The classic thermostatic radiator contains a plug, and is typically made of wax which expands or contracts with the surrounding temperature. A simple more traditional valve can be operated using the same principle as a tap. You simply turn the top of the valve to allow more or less water to enter your radiator. Lock shield valves are used to control the amount of water that flows out of the radiator into the return pipework. This allows you to balance the radiators, ensuring the water is distributed evenly across your property and helping your radiators to heat up at the same rate.

Angled or Straight?

A straight radiator valves joins the radiator to the central heating pipework in a straight horizontal line. Angled radiator valves, as the name suggests, allow you to join the central heating pipework to the radiator at an angle. The radiator valve has a 90 degree bend in it so that the valve inlet can be met in either a horizontal or vertical fashion. The type of radiator valve you will need is therefore dependent on the position of the radiator valve inlets that your radiator requires and also the position of the central hating supply flow and return pipes that feed your radiator. Standard radiators typically have side valve inlets. These are located at the bottom of the radiator too but tend to allow access from the side only. It is likely that you would need to use an angled radiator valve to join the pipe work to the valve inlet. A straight radiator valve could be used if your radiator had the valve inlets at the back rather than the side of the radiator and your pipe work came through the floor.

Variety Valves:

Here at BHL we aim to stock a variety of brands and types so that you can find the perfect product to suit you. Stocking big named brands emphasises product trust and reliability. Biasi remains at the forefront of new product development and strives to continuously set benchmark standards. Established in 1990, with a blossoming reputation for central heating radiators, towel rails, and unvented cylinders, Biasi also provide exceptional valves. Danfoss similarly aim to enable the world of tomorrow to do more with less.  Founded in 1933 by Mads Clausen in Denmark, Danfoss have grown from a solo enterprise into a world leader made possible by clear focus on innovative engineering and early entry on emerging markets. The first product created by Danfoss was an expansion valve for refrigerating systems right back in 1933, which gives Danfoss years of experience. In 1943 Danfoss unvented one of the first radiator thermostats in the world, later entering into hydraulics business with orbit motors for agricultural and construction machines; hopefully you can trust Danfoss as much as we do here at BHL. The next big leading valve manufacturer is Salus, and engineering design and brand distribution company providing energy control solutions to professional market channels throughout Europe. By understand the unique complexity of each market where they do business, they develop solutions that define the market by developing product innovation, cost savings, logistical efficiencies and speed to market. The talented team at Salus much like us here at BHL working diligently to deliver product solutions, enabling customers to be more profitable, honour their commitments and stand out in their markets.
