Underfloor Heating Systems

Underfloor heating is not a new innovation, indeed underfloor heating systems were first developed by the Greeks and the Romans thousands of years ago. Today underfloor heating is an affordable and efficient solution to room heating. Plastic plumbing systems enable a quick install either professionally or by a keen DIY expert. Underfloor heating can be retro-fitted to existing central heating systems and can work alongside radiators. In old properties most people install underfloor heating in an extension or conservatory. Underfloor heating systems radiate heat more evenly and over a wider area than radiators providing a room free from hot and cold spots. Underfloor heating is also more energy efficient because it operates at a lower temperature than other heating systems - meaning lower fuel bills. A radiator free room also enables interior design flexibility. Underfloor heating can work with any type of floor construction. The heat emanates from a continuous length of plastic tube. Eaxh zone of the system is controlled by a thermostat and connected to manifold. This manifold controls the temperature of the water. The manifold is sited above the floor and is connected to the boiler via a central heating circulation pump.
