Ground floor heat pumps advised for basement conversion
Consumers looking to implement an environmentally-friendly basement extension have been advised to consider ground source heat
pumps.
Basement building specialist for London and the
home counties Keith Defoe has asserted that there are a variety of ways to make a cellar conversion green.
Spokesperson Keith Defoe said: "With the new regulations on heat loss
you can put different types of
pumps in now which can take the energy source from the ground. There are different things you can do to make it more environmentally friendly."
Mr Defoe added that basement extensions can be put to a variety of uses, functioning as bedrooms, kitchens,
bathrooms, playrooms, gyms or swimming pools, among other possibilities.
Meanwhile, it has been reported by the Argus that a village hall in Cooksbridge is to use a ground floor heat pump as part of its environmentally-friendly operations.
The Greenstore Combi
range of ground floor heat
pumps is available from Worcester.
