Condensing boilers part of new efficient homes development

Condensing boilers are part of a new housing development in Barnet, aiming to showcase energy efficient homes to consumers.

The three houses, built through a partnership between Barnet Homes and Barnet Council, are five-bedroom family homes that use solar panels as part of their green emphasis.

"The council is looking to become more environmentally-friendly across all services and this is just one example of how we can practically be more 'green'," said councillor Lynne Hillan, cabinet member for community services.

Condensing boilers are joined by thermostatic valves on each radiator in the new property to make heating the properties energy efficient and environmentally-friendly, while maintaining practicality too.

Roof insulation and double glazing also add to the properties' efficiency ratings.

Boiler manufacturer HRM recently announced intentions to introduce condensing versions of two of its ranges, the Wallstar combi and Weybourne floor standing boilers to comply with new building regulations.
