Loo awards to be sponsored by Armitage Shanks
Bathroom supplier Armitage Shanks is set to be one of the main sponsors behind an awards ceremony which recognises the country's best-kept toilets.
Providing bathroom products to both domestic and commercial customers, the UK company has revealed that it will be sponsoring the annual Loo of the Year Awards contest later on in 2007.
This year represents the 20th anniversary of the unique ceremony from the British Toilet Association (BTA), which seeks to lift the lid on the UK's public conveniences and reward the best loos in the land.
Marketing manager Tony Rheinberg commented previously on the importance of the competition: "Away-from-home toilets are an important part of our business and Armitage Shanks is delighted to support the work done by BTA…in protecting public conveniences from further dissolution."
The spokesman also noted that the bathroom supplier has supported the annual event since 2000.
According to the BTA, more than 50,000 toilets have been inspected by the organisation over the past 20 years as part of the competition.
Last year's overall winner was named as the Camping and Caravanning Club at the awards ceremony staged at Birmingham's motor museum.
