Can maintaining a boiler save money?
Britons may wish to take heed of advice recently given by one TV property expert and ensure that their homes and its fixtures - such as
central heating systems - are well maintained.
Channel 4's Location, Location, Location presenter and property surveyor Phil Spencer has asserted that maintaining a home is like taking care of a person's health and therefore prevention "is always better than cure".
Speaking as part of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings' annual National Maintenance Week, he added that regular maintenance of a home is important to avoid it falling into a state of disrepair and having to fork out to have it all fixed up again as a result.
Such advice could be used to illustrate the importance of keeping
central heating well maintained.
Indeed, failure to have a regular boiler service may leave Britons out in the cold at Christmas should their
central heating pack up.
Furthermore, by having their boiler serviced, consumers may be able to get advice on the best and most efficient boiler or renewable energy technology to invest in.
"The plain fact of the matter is that maintaining your property makes good sense and saves money. However, the sad truth [...] is that many people put property maintenance way down their list of priorities," said Spencer.
