Does boiler insurance make consumers sensible?

Britons who ensure that they have boiler insurance ahead of the winter are making a sensible decision, it has been asserted.

Writing for Scotland on Sunday, Claire Black stated: "I know that sensible people have a plan B. But they're the same people who've got a pension and that emergency cover for their gas boiler."

However, she admitted that she was the type of person who would arrive back to her home to discover water cascading through the ceiling and only then opt to purchase cover.

But boiler insurance could be a wise purchase ahead of the winter, in order to ensure that should central heating breakdown, Britons will be able to afford any repair work.

Should they require a replacement, they may also find the funds are in place to cover this, which could see them affording to splash out on a modern and more energy efficient boiler, such as a condensing boiler.

And in addition to being greener, the Energy Saving Trust asserts that such a boiler could save Britons over £200 every year on their utility bills.
