Congregation looks to heavens as church gets solar panels
A church in south Wales has had a green boost after new solar panels were fitted to its roof as part of a renovation scheme.
The BBC reports that when Father David Way took over the parish in 2002, he was concerned the building would not be around for much longer as it was in such a state of disrepair.
However, thanks to a number of fund-raising initiatives, the church has now had new solar panels fitted, which could help to reduce its impact on the environment, while also lowering its utility bills.
The 30 panels are reportedly already making such a significant impact to energy bills, that all of the excess electricity is being sold back to the National Grid.
Father David said: "It was a dream come true, we couldn't believe how wonderful it looked and how efficient it was in what we were trying to do."
The Liverpool Echo recently claimed that rather than having the latest designer kitchen or bathroom suites, solar panels are the current must-have for many homeowners.
