Could a new boiler end central heating battles?
Around the UK, households are coming to blows over whether or not to switch on the
central heating as people become increasingly concerned about how they will pay their bills, it has been revealed.
As the temperature drops, 24 per cent of Britons have admitted to arguing with their family as to whether they should be turning on their
radiators, moneysupermarket.com has found.
Furthermore, while 16 per cent claim to feel annoyed if a member of the household switches on the heating before they have said it is fine to do so, eight per cent state that they have wished to turn it on earlier than other residents in their home.
Scott Byrom, utilities manager at moneysupermarket.com, said: "It seems the boiler battle is on, with Brits all over the country arguing about turning the heating on this year."
However, in order to avoid such battles, Britons may wish to take steps to ensure their
central heating is as efficient as possible, which could see them lowering their energy bills.
The Energy Saving Trust recommends that investing in a condensing boiler could see heating bills falling by as much as £275 a year, which could spell the end of heating battles.
