Time for a gas service?
In order to get their
central heating in its best condition for the winter, Britons have been advised to have their gas appliances - which could include boilers and
gas fires - serviced.
And according to confused.com, such action can also ensure that households are kept safe from the possible risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Indeed, the group asserts that as the gas can be almost impossible to detect without an alarm, it is worthwhile contacting a professional to ensure that such appliances are working safely.
By having a boiler serviced, an engineer may be able to advice consumers where they could make their
central heating more energy efficiency in order to keep bills down, which may mean investing in a new boiler.
Should a new boiler be required, the Energy Saving Trust notes that a condensing boiler is currently the most efficient gas appliance available on the domestic housing market.
When arranging a boiler service, Britons are legally required to hire a member of Gas Safe Register to carry out the work.
