Housing development to feature biomass boilers
A new development offering affordable housing in Newport is set to incorporate biomass b
oilers.
Fairlake Properties has submitted planning proposals on behalf of Charter Housing for 101 homes on the Old Town Dock site in the town, which would contain a number of one, two three and four bedroom homes and apartments, together with 15 terraced properties.
According to the South Wales Argus, the £200 million development will have a number of energy efficient features, including renewable electricity and a biomass b
oiler.
Neil Barber, assistant director for Fairlake, told the newspaper: "Providing affordable, greener and better-designed homes for the future is essential and is very much the vision of all partners for the former Old Town Dock site."
Plans for a new building for Stourbridge College in the West Midlands include a biomass b
oiler, as part of the developer's plans to achieve a BREAAM
excellent rating, reports H&V News.
