Unvented Hot Water Cylinders
Unvented Cylinders supply mains pressure hot water

throughout the property or house.
Unvented Cylinders are connected to the rising water main, usually with a 22mm (3/4”) pipe.
Solar Cylinders for use with solar heating systems are a relatively new addition to the Unvented Cylinder family.
Unvented Hot Water Cylinders require no storage tanks, feed and expansion tanks or open-vent pipes. Instead a diaphragm inside a pressure vessel mounted on top of the cylinder flexes to accommodate expanding water.
If the vessel fails an expansion relief valve protects the system by releasing water via a discharge pipe.
Unvented Cylinder Installation Regulations
By installing an unvented hot-water cylinder you will need to adhere to both the Water Regulations and Building Regulations.
As well as including all the relevant safety devices the unit has to be installed by a competent installer.
The unvented cylinder should also be serviced regularly by a competent installer.
Before installation of your unvented cylinder, you must notify the water company and your local Building Control Office of your intention to install the cylinder.
