Biomass boiler installed for bungalows
A communal biomass heating system is set to be installed on an eco-housing development in Derbyshire, which its builders claim will be the most environmentally friendly in the county.
The properties in North Wingfield are to be built by housing and regeneration group LHA-ASRA, which will install the wood chip fired b
oiler to provide heat to 32 new affordable two bedroom bungalows aimed at those aged over 55, according to the South Yorkshire Star.
It is understood that the developers claim it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 44 per cent as well as contributing to lower gas and electricity bills.
The bungalows' other green credentials include that they will be run on low levels of water and have storage space for recyclables fitted.
Earlier in the week, it was reported that the Three Gardens affordable housing complex in Elmswell, near Bury St Edmunds, is set to use a biomass b
oiler-fired heating system.
