Glow-Worm upgrades heating cylinders
Boiler manufacturer
Glow-Worm has released a new range of its hot water cylinders, it has emerged.
It is understood the new range will make improvements on existing hot water cylinders by incorporating better packaging of the motorised valve, according to a H&V News report.
The gear system has been strengthened in the two-port motorised valve supplied in the cylinder making it twice as deep, 6.4 millimetres compared to 3.4 millimetres.
According to the company the cylinders are suited to
Glow-worm's open vent and system b
oilers, while also being compatible with other manufacturer's b
oilers.
It is understood that heat loss can be kept down to 1.7 kilowatts per 24 hours because of the cylinder's insulation and a high recovery heating c
oil is said to be able to provide recovery in around 20 minutes.
The Yorkshire Evening Post recently commented that by installing full heating controls including cylinder
thermostats consumers could save around 15 per cent annually on heating bills.
