Worcester to unveil new heat pump selection

Boiler specialist Worcester has extended its green heat selection with new heat pumps designed to suit underfloor heating and large radiator systems.

According to Builders Merchants Journal, the latest Greensource air-to-water pumps emit minimal carbon and function via technology similar to that found in domestic fridges.

The device draws air from outside a building via an external fan, before the air's latent energy is converted into useable heat for houses.

"Designed to work with existing wet central heating systems, Greensource air-to-water heat pumps transfer the converted heat into water to deliver low-cost, energy-saving heating and hot water all year round," confirmed the publication.

It went on to note that air-to-water heat pumps like those manufactured by Worcester can produce up to four times more heat energy than the electrical power they consume.

Released in June this year, the Greensource air-to-water device will be followed in the autumn by an air-to-air heat pump.

Last year saw Worcester scoop the prestigious Boiler of the Year award for its Greenstar CDi range.

The firm's Greenskies solar thermal panels also won Energy Efficient Product of the Year at the annual Corgi bash.ADNFCR-672-ID-18533439-ADNFCR
